The building was built over the traffic path from campus to the western dorms so it was built with an expansive breezeway as the ground floor. The computer was down one and my office up one from there.
I parked my bicycle in the breezeway next to the no-bicycle-parking sign. Late in the fall I found it chained to the sign with a parking ticket attached. This was as good as any place to winter over. In the spring I ran into a colleague carrying huge bolt cutters who had just "liberated" the bike without knowing it was mine. I rode it home that evening.
